Tanzania has invited Turkish investors to explore opportunities across key industrial sectors, including manufacturing, technology, agro-processing and industrial production infrastructure, as part of efforts to accelerate economic growth and expand employment.

The invitation was extended by Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Dennis L. Londo during a meeting with a delegation from the Turkish Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MÜSİAD) in Dar es Salaam on October 16, 2026.

Londo highlighted Tanzania’s strategic geographical position, describing the country as a gateway to regional and continental markets. These include the East African Community (EAC), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The government’s outreach to Turkish businesses reflects its efforts to attract investment, strengthen industrial capacity and expand economic cooperation between Tanzania and Türkiye.

The proposed areas of investment cover several sectors considered important to industrial development. Manufacturing and agro-processing could support the expansion of domestic production, while technology investments could contribute to modernising industrial operations. Infrastructure for industrial production is also among the opportunities presented to potential investors.

The Tanzanian government reaffirmed its commitment to improving the country’s investment climate and strengthening cooperation with relevant institutions to make investment procedures more efficient.

The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) was identified as a key institution in facilitating investment processes and accelerating the implementation of projects.

Improving these procedures is intended to help investors navigate regulatory requirements and support the timely execution of investment plans.

MÜSİAD expressed its readiness to mobilise capital and advanced technology to support Tanzania’s industrial development. The association also highlighted the potential for investment to create employment opportunities and strengthen economic ties between Tanzania and Türkiye.

The engagement comes as Tanzania seeks to attract international investors to support industrial expansion and develop productive sectors of its economy. Cooperation with Turkish businesses could open opportunities for partnerships in manufacturing, technology and agro-processing.

The government’s invitation signals its intention to deepen commercial relations with Türkiye while positioning Tanzania as an investment destination serving markets across East and Southern Africa and the wider African continent.
