Tanzania and the European Union have concluded an investment roadshow in The Hague, Netherlands, aimed at promoting Tanzanian investment opportunities and strengthening economic ties with European businesses.
The EU–Tanzania Investment Roadshow was held across Finland, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, with the Netherlands programme taking place from 5-6 October 2026. The initiative brought together European investors, Tanzanian institutions and businesses to explore investment opportunities and potential partnerships.

The roadshow highlighted priority sectors including agriculture and agro-processing, critical minerals, digitalisation, transport, ports and logistics, value addition and investment financing.
Through sector presentations, business-to-business matchmaking and direct discussions with investors, the programme sought to identify bankable projects and create opportunities for stronger commercial cooperation between Tanzanian and European companies.
The Netherlands programme was officially opened by Prof. Kitila Alexander Mkumbo, Minister of State in the President’s Office (Planning and Investment).
Mkumbo expressed appreciation for the European Union’s longstanding partnership with Tanzania and said the government remained committed to ensuring that the roadshow leads to tangible investment outcomes.

Representing the European Union, Virginie de Ruyt, Head of Unit for Eastern and Central Africa at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships, reaffirmed the bloc’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Tanzania.
A central message of the roadshow was Tanzania’s potential to serve not only as an investment destination but also as a gateway to the wider East African Community (EAC) market.

The government presented Tanzania as a platform from which European companies can establish, expand and connect investments across the region.
The roadshow also laid the groundwork for the EU–Tanzania Investment and Business Forum, which is scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam in February 2027.
The upcoming forum is expected to provide an opportunity to build on discussions held during the roadshow, advance investment commitments and strengthen business-to-business relationships.
It will also seek to deepen economic cooperation between Tanzania and the European Union, with a focus on turning identified investment opportunities into concrete partnerships and projects.
