Morocco Game Industry Expo 2026 opened its third edition in Rabat with the signing of a series of strategic agreements and partnerships aimed at strengthening Morocco’s growing video games ecosystem and positioning the country as a regional hub for the gaming and creative industries.

The event was officially inaugurated under the high patronage of Moulay Hassan, reflecting the support of Mohammed VIfor the development of the sector as part of Morocco’s broader focus on digital transformation, youth empowerment and future industries.

Several partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed during the expo with national and international institutions, including Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Deposit and Management Fund, and the Moroccan Company for Tourist Engineering.

Additional agreements were signed with UNICEF, HP and eSTEM Morocco to support training programmes, encourage innovation and help develop Moroccan talent in technology and creative sectors.

Officials said the agreements reflect a shared ambition to build a strong and integrated national ecosystem for the video game industry while supporting employment opportunities and digital entrepreneurship among Moroccan youth.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, government officials stressed that the gaming sector is no longer viewed solely as entertainment, but as a strategic global industry capable of creating economic opportunities across multiple sectors.

The expo also featured an address by guest of honour Erin Roberts, who shared his experience and views on the future of the global video games industry with participants and industry professionals attending the event.

The exhibition has brought together creators, investors, companies and experts from Morocco and abroad, serving as a platform to encourage investment, collaboration and innovation in the gaming sector.

Organisers said the event aligns with Morocco’s long term vision of investing in the digital economy and positioning the kingdom as an emerging destination for video game development and cultural and creative industries in Africa and the wider region.
