Uganda and South Sudan are set to bring together government officials, private sector leaders and business communities for the second Uganda-South Sudan Business Forum, aimed at strengthening trade, investment and commercial partnerships between the two countries.
The official launch and press conference for the forum was held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala, ahead of the three-day event scheduled for October 13 to 15 at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.
The forum will be held under the theme, “Easing the Cost of Doing Business and Unlocking Regional Market Opportunities for Uganda and South Sudan.”

Organisers said the gathering will provide businesses from both countries with an opportunity to explore new commercial opportunities, establish partnerships and identify ways to expand bilateral trade and investment.
Government representatives, private sector players and business communities from Uganda and South Sudan are expected to participate in discussions focused on improving the business environment and unlocking opportunities in the regional market.

The forum is also expected to create a platform for businesses to engage directly with policymakers and potential partners, with the aim of addressing barriers to cross-border trade and investment.
The event comes as Uganda and South Sudan seek to deepen economic cooperation and strengthen commercial links between their business communities.
Through discussions on the cost of doing business and access to regional markets, the forum will focus on practical measures that can support companies seeking to expand across the two countries.
The three-day meeting will also provide an opportunity for businesses to develop partnerships and explore investment opportunities, while promoting closer economic ties between Uganda and South Sudan.
