Kenyan police have launched an investigation into the reported disappearance of former Foreign Minister Raphael Tuju, amid claims he may have been abducted, the BBC reported.
According to his family, Tuju and his driver went missing on Saturday evening while travelling to a radio interview. Police said his vehicle was later found abandoned with its hazard lights on in Karen, an affluent suburb of the capital, Nairobi, adding that his phone was switched off and he could not be reached.

Tuju, who has held several senior government roles including foreign minister, has been involved in a prolonged legal dispute over the auction and takeover of his Nairobi properties linked to an unsettled bank loan.
He recently alleged that dozens of police officers raided his Karen property, removed staff and security personnel, and took control of the premises. Tuju claimed that powerful individuals were behind efforts to seize his assets, although the government has not responded to the allegations.
The dispute centres on lenders seeking to recover more than $15 million tied to properties owned by his company, Dari Limited. Tuju has filed multiple legal challenges to block the auction and recently secured court orders preventing the transfer of the properties pending the hearing of his latest application, the BBC said.
