Bola Tinubu has expressed Nigeria’s solidarity with Gulf nations affected during the recent conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, reaffirming his government’s commitment to global peace and regional stability.
Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja while receiving Letters of Credence from seven ambassadors and two high commissioners, Tinubu praised the resilience and restraint shown by several Gulf countries that came under attack during the tensions in the region.
Among the diplomats received were representatives from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, alongside envoys from Lebanon, Sudan, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, Argentina and Republic of the Congo.

“Let me first of all congratulate all of you and use this opportunity to say that the Federal Republic of Nigeria expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the face of the recent attacks,” Tinubu said.
“The world needs tranquillity, peace and love. We share that solidarity with all of you in that region.”
The Nigerian President said his country would continue to advocate for peace and stability through bilateral and multilateral cooperation, stressing that Nigeria remains committed to strengthening ties with international partners.
Tinubu told the envoys that Nigeria values its diplomatic relationships and is prepared to deepen cooperation for mutual economic growth and development.
“Nigeria values the bonds of friendship we share. We remain fully committed to deepening these ties for the mutual prosperity and progress of our peoples,” he said.

The President also used the occasion to highlight his administration’s economic reforms, describing Nigeria as a growing hub for investment, innovation and sustainable development.
He urged the diplomats to view Nigeria as a strategic partner open to business collaboration and economic partnerships.
“As you commence your tour of duty, I invite you to see Nigeria not just as Africa’s most populous nation, but as a dynamic partner open for strategic and mutually beneficial business collaboration,” Tinubu said.
He added that Nigeria’s foreign policy would continue to guide its international engagements, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development, youth empowerment, democratic governance and regional integration.
Tinubu also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the principles of the Economic Community of West African States, saying regional security and stability in the Sahel remain major priorities.
“The defence of constitutional order, the pursuit of regional economic integration, and the stabilisation of the Sahel region are priorities that we cannot achieve in isolation,” he said.
The President further called for stronger international cooperation in addressing global challenges including terrorism, climate change, energy transition and global financial inequality.
“The global community today faces a complex web of overlapping crises,” Tinubu said. “Nigeria stands ready to work with your governments bilaterally and in multilateral forums to advocate for a fairer, more secure world order.”
Speaking on behalf of the envoys, Yousef Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed Al-Hail thanked Tinubu for receiving the diplomats and pledged continued efforts to strengthen relations between their countries and Nigeria during their assignments.
