Ethiopia has secured investment agreements worth 13.1 billion US dollars at the Invest in Ethiopia 2026 forum, in what the government is calling a major breakthrough for the country’s economic push.
The Office of the Prime Minister said the deals signal rising global confidence in Ethiopia’s reform driven economy and mark a significant boost to growth momentum.
In a statement, the Office described the outcome as a historic milestone in attracting foreign capital, with agreements signed with investors from China, Poland, India, Singapore and Kenya.

“These agreements mark a historic milestone and reflect the growing confidence of global investors in Ethiopia’s reform driven economy,” the statement said.
The investments span key sectors including renewable energy, mining and green ammonia, underlining expanding opportunities created by ongoing reforms.
Officials said the Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda is delivering tangible results, backed by policy measures aimed at improving the investment climate. These include currency liberalisation, opening up banking and telecom sectors, and the development of modern Special Economic Zones, along with greater access to international markets through the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The government highlighted progress across strategic sectors, noting that Ethiopia is leveraging its vast renewable energy capacity, supported by the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, to drive solar manufacturing and hydrogen development, while boosting mining productivity.
Industrial growth is also accelerating through expanding Special Economic Zones, alongside rapid digital transformation led by the ICT sector.
The statement added that Ethiopia is strengthening its position as a global trade and tourism hub, supported by improved connectivity via Ethiopian Airlines and its rich cultural heritage.
Calling for deeper global engagement, the government said Ethiopia is now more open, competitive and ready for business than ever before.
