Chinese President praises the Grand Egyptian Museum during a cultural tour with his Egyptian counterpart…reports Africa Daily News Desk

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar El-Sisi accompanied Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan on a tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo during the Chinese leader’s official visit to Egypt.

The two leaders and their spouses were received at the museum before being given a detailed presentation on its archaeological collections, including explanations of some of Egypt’s most prominent artefacts in Arabic and Chinese.

The tour included the museum’s Grand Staircase, where the presidential couples were briefed on the ancient artefacts displayed along the structure. They also posed for commemorative photographs at the Pyramids Panorama area.

The visit concluded at the King Tutankhamun Treasures Hall, where the leaders viewed some of the museum’s most renowned exhibits, including Tutankhamun’s Golden Mask and Throne Chair, along with other artefacts showcasing the craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian civilisation.

During the visit, Xi expressed admiration for Egypt’s ancient civilisation and its contribution to human history, according to the Egyptian presidency.

The Chinese president also praised the Grand Egyptian Museum as a world-class cultural institution befitting the grandeur of Egypt’s ancient heritage.
